Applications are invited for the temporary full-time vacancy of Senior Policy Officer (AO6), Disability System Policy, Student Support Branch, State Schools Strategy, based at Education House, 30 Mary Street, Brisbane. The Senior Policy Officer will work within the Disability System Policy team undertaking work activities
related to disability policy, disability strategy and inclusive education for students with disability.
This temporary vacancy is available from 3 November 2025 to 17 February 2026, unless otherwise determined.

Responsibilities Include:
As Senior Policy Officer, your role will include the following key tasks related to disability policy, reasonable adjustments and inclusion for students with disability:
- Prepare presentations, correspondence and briefing materials.
- Monitor progress and provide timely reports on projects and action items.
- Liaise with key internal and external stakeholders about work priorities and meetings.
- Undertake research.
- Maintain and update content on the department's website.
The ideal applicant will have the following attributes:
- Strong writing skills with attention to detail.
- Experience in coordination of workflows and reporting.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to quickly build positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- An active contributor to a healthy, inclusive and safe workplace.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and meet timelines.
- Commitment to working effectively in a busy team environment to ensure multiple work priorities and timelines are met.
Career experience in disability policy and inclusion for students with disability would be highly desirable but is not essential to role.
While not a requirement of the role, people with disability or lived experience of disability are encouraged to apply.
