The Cairns Acute and Community Services team are seeking an Operational Services Grounds Person to join them. In this role you will be responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the gardens and surrounding grounds at the Gordonvale, Edmonton and Smithfield facilities.

About your opportunity:

In this position you will;

  • Maintain the facility property in a neat and tidy condition by removing relevant waste and litter, cutting lawns, trimming edges, pruning trees and shrubs, fertilising, planting, weeding and watering.
  • Knowledge and use of facility maintenance equipment, horticultural machinery and minor power tools.
  • Practice high levels of communication and interpersonal skills to create and foster team spirit within a multidisciplinary environment.
  • Accountable for the implementation of safe practices of manual and chemical storage and handling and infection control.
