Your Opportunity
The Electoral Commission of Queensland (ECQ), as a modern and professional statutory authority, is looking for a versatile, multi-skilled and motivated person for the position of Manager ICT Governance & Assurance. This newly established role is directly accountable to the Executive Director, Digital Technologies for providing assurance that the Digital Technologies expenditure, procurement, contracts and priorities of work remain aligned with the ECQ’s polices and strategic objectives.
The successful candidate will establish, implement and maintain ICT governance and assurance frameworks, processes and procedures that support and integrate with the ECQ’s financial, procurement and contract policies and frameworks.

Your Contribution and Accountabilities
● As a member of the Digital Technologies (DT) Leadership Team, actively contribute to planning and achievement of strategic and operational priorities.
● Establishing ICT governance and assurance processes that align with DT's transformation agenda and safeguard the integrity and resilience of ECQ's digital infrastructure, particularly during critical electoral periods.
● Lead and manage a small team of professionals, providing guidance and direction to improve performance and capability to ensure alignment of frameworks, policies and standards.
● Develop, implement and continuously improve a comprehensive budget management strategy, ICT procurement and contract management framework (including policies procedures, standards and guidelines), establishing supporting processes and documentation as required.
● Develop business continuity plans that align with best practice and relevant legislative requirements and improves the business performance of Digital Technologies.
● Coordinate and manage other ICT leaders and teams to develop, implement and proactively review ICT policies, standards and procedures to enable effective risk management and compliance, data protection and security whilst building organisational-wide awareness and capability in meeting digital technologies obligations.
● Lead programs of work as required to uplift ICT process maturity through continuous improvement, standardisation and automation initiatives, using the ECQ change management framework to support delivery of ICT initiatives and strategic election projects with minimal disruption to business operations.
● Build relationships with key internal and external stakeholders and work collaboratively with key leaders and users to better understand needs and requirements that inform governance and assurance priorities and provide advice and recommendations to executive stakeholders and relevant governance boards to support decision-making.
● Contribute to team cohesiveness, wellbeing, and capability through participation in establishing a positive environment, respectful of the views of others across the Digital Technologies unit and broader ECQ workforce.
● Consistently display the ECQ and Queensland Government values, ensuring that these are upheld at all levels of the organisation.
