Health Equity Project Officer
South Brisbane
Support health equity reform at Children's Health Queensland Hospital and Health Service (CHQ HHS), by providing support in the co-design, implementation and review of CHQ’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Equity Strategy (Health Equity Strategy) and Implementation Plan. The Health Equity Project Officer will work directly to the Health Equity Program Manager as part of a dynamic and innovative team to achieve health equity reform. This will include implementing new ways of working to support positive outcomes and experiences for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and young people and their families/carers.

About the Role
- Support the design, development, and implementation of the CHQ HHS Health Equity Strategy and Implementation Plan including:
- Communicating effectively with a broad range of stakeholders and develop, nurture and maintain strong, effective relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
- Support the co-design and co-implementation processes with a wide range of stakeholders as stipulated by the Hospital and Health Boards (Health Equity Strategies) Amendment Regulation 2021.
- Develop and maintain approaches to plan and monitor the progress of the Health Equity Strategy's development and implementation including maintenance of project management tools.
- Assist in developing, informing and writing documentation including briefs, project plans, reports, annual reviews and evaluation.
- Prepare reports and papers for the Health Equity Strategy Steering Committee, Executive Leadership Team, Board and community.
- Provide CHQ HHS Health Equity Strategy Steering Committee secretariate support and progress meeting actions.
- Assist in reviewing and presenting relevant data, to inform continuous quality improvement.
- Consider inter-dependent policies, plans and strategies as well as relevant literature and its relevance to health equity reform at CHQ HHS.
- Support the implementation and reporting of the South East Queensland First Nations Health Equity Strategy.
- Support a positive culture within CHQ HHS that encourages and recognises high performance, builds leadership capabilities and supports staff to maximise their health and wellbeing.
