Metro South Health is seeking two dedicated Information Officers for a 6 month fixed-term contract to support clinical data standards, records management, and data quality improvement. About your role:

As an Information Officer within the Health Informatics Unit, you will play a critical role in managing and maintaining clinical data quality and patient records. You will investigate data discrepancies, support mandatory reporting, and contribute to quality improvement initiatives that underpin patient safety and healthcare delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and maintain hospital information systems (HBCIS, ieMR) ensuring accuracy and timely updates of patient data.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies in patient medical records using audit trails and linked systems.
• Assist in mandatory data reporting and quality audits, contributing recommendations and presentations.

About you:

You are a detail-oriented and responsible professional with strong technical skills in Health Information Management. Your analytical mindset and problem-solving abilities help ensure data integrity and support the delivery of high-quality patient care.

• High-level technical knowledge of Health Information Management and healthcare terminologies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and negotiation skills.

Princess Alexandra Hospital:

The Princess Alexandra Hospital (PAH) is a tertiary health care centre providing care in most major adult specialties. We provide world class health care to Brisbane City's southern suburbs across emergency, medical, mental health and surgical services, including liver and kidney transplant.

We are nationally recognised for our expertise in trauma management and organ transplants and are one of Australia's leading academic and research health centres. The PAH as a major medical research precinct hosts Australia's most advanced medical research facility, the Translational Research Institute (TRI) as well as a new Clinical Research Facility for the discoveries made at TRI to be trialed in a safe clinical environment.

We're expanding our hospital to make sure everyone gets the care they need. We're adding more beds, modernising our buildings, and improving our spaces to treat kidney and cancer patients with all new services and facilities planned to open by 2027.
