Drayton State School is seeking a passionate and experienced educator to take on the role of Head of Special Education Services, working 0.4 FTE in administration across Drayton State School, Cambooya State School, Vale View State School, Wyreema State School, Wellcamp State School, Bunkers Hill State School, and Ramsay State School. In this leadership role, you'll drive inclusive practices and ensure equity for students with disability, leading high-quality teaching and adjustments in line with current legislation and policy. The remaining 0.6 FTE teaching load will be based at Drayton State School.

About the School 

The  Drayton State School - Special Education Program - Cluster Position is a collaborative support program led by a Head of Special Education Services (HOSES), providing coordinated assistance for students with disabilities across seven schools. These schools include Drayton State School, Cambooya State School, Wyreema State School, Wellcamp State School, Ramsay State School, and Vale View State School. The cluster model ensures that students receive consistent, high-quality support tailored to their individual needs, regardless of their school setting. Through shared expertise and strong partnerships, the Drayton State School - Special Education Program - Cluster promotes inclusive education, equity, and personalised learning opportunities for every student across the participating school communities. 

About the Role  

As the Head of Special Education Services, you will promote an inclusive culture and foster practices within the school community that ensure equity and excellence for students with disability. You will lead the development and support of high-quality teaching and appropriate adjustments, aligning with relevant legislation and policies to meet the diverse needs of all learners. Through strategic leadership and collaboration, you will help create a learning environment where every student is supported to reach their full potential. 

Your Responsibilities 

As the Head of Special Education Services, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:  

  • Manage and coordinate the delivery of high-quality advice and support provided by the Special Education Program and/or Early Childhood Development Program.
  • Lead and manage the Special Education Program and/or Early Childhood Development Program to provide advice to classroom teachers for students with disability as needed.
  • Provide high quality advice to the school leadership team, classroom teachers and other school staff to develop, plan and implement effective reasonable adjustments for students with disability.
