The Role
An opportunity has become available for several Clinical Nurse Consultants (Mental Health Emergency Coordinator) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
- Provide efficient and responsive mental health assessment and management at a high level
- Provide intensive, developmentally appropriate, community-centred, mental health, alcohol and/or drug interventions and ongoing assessments
- Apply independent professional judgement, based on valid and reliable evidence, and apply relevant legislation
- Provide supervision, training and support in a specialist area to staff, and training and supervision to students
About you
To be successful in this position you will require:
- A Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent
- Registration with the Nursing Midwifery Board of Australia
- Credentialed through the College of Mental Health Nurses (or be prepared to work towards a credential in Mental Health Nursing)
- A post graduate qualification in the specialty area would be well regarded
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
- Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
- Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

- Base salary ranging from $66.85 - $72.58 per hour
About Us
Mental Health and Specialist Services provide integrated hospital and community specialised mental health assessment and treatment services across the age-spectrum. Our services aim to be consumer focused, and recovery orientated. This position will work within the Acute Care Community service and will work closely in collaboration with other areas of MHSS, inclusive of the Emergency Departments and the Crisis Stabilisation Unit. Based at Southport.
