Do you thrive in a dynamic work environment and are driven to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others? If so, this could this be your next role!
The mental health workforce at QCS is currently undergoing a period of change and is expanding it's psychology and counselling workforce to include psychologists, social workers and occupational therapists. The new Senior Mental Health Clinician role brings an exciting opportunity to be a part of this change.
You will be a senior member of the multi-disciplinary team which delivers mental health services within the correctional centre.
This role provides high level clinical services that are complex in nature, including assessments and interventions that promote mental health, well-being and the safety of the adults accommodated in our centres. To be successful, you will need to clearly and consistently demonstrate your combined clinical knowledge, understanding, and skills to support service delivery. Being an experienced clinician, your ability to manage a diverse case load, maintain accurate case notes and progress reports is paramount.
With clinical frameworks to guide decisions and activities, you will be able to operate independently to provide advice, undertake clinical consultations, and problem solve diverse, and often complicated, situations. You will also:
• Demonstrate and apply your knowledge of theories, models and research related to behaviour change techniques
• Develop and/or review behavioural support management plans
• Provide clinical supervision, and mentorship, to help promote a supportive environment while developing critical thinking and clinical decision-making skills within the team
• Be accountable for your own professional development, maintaining clinical practice knowledge and expertise through active learning within the team and by engaging in professional development activities.
As a compassionate mental health professional, you can work within QCS' intervention and legislative frameworks to enhance the delivery of clinical care and discipline specific services. Your ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders will be critical to your success in this role.
