Nurse Unit Manager (Acute Care)

As the Nurse Unit Manager (Acute Care), you will work as a senior level clinician and manager, accountable at an advanced level in the leading, directing and coordination of nursing and associated services within the clinical unit, providing the highest level of care to patients, while meeting national and professional standards.
The township of Woorabinda is situated on the traditional lands of the Wadja Wadja and Gangulu Aboriginal people and is a designated Aboriginal Shire Council Community located in Central Queensland, 175km south west of Rockhampton.

About us:
The Woorabinda Multipurpose Health Service (MPHS) provides first line health care for the people of Woorabinda and surrounding population. Medical, Nursing, Allied Health, Operational and Administrative staff provide 24-hour Accident and Emergency Care, low acuity inpatient care, Residential Aged Care and a wide range of Community and Public Health services including pharmacy and dental services.
About the role:
To work in a Multi-Purpose Health Service with an enthusiastic management team to deliver emergency and acute care to The Woorabinda Community.
- Accountability for safe patient focused care and sound financial management of the Acute Care Unit of Woorabinda Multi-Purpose Health Service.
- Promote innovation and change through constant improvement to increase staff satisfaction and patient safety.
- Safe rostering, absenteeism management and effective recruitment strategies whilst developing your team.
- Promote team stability through the ability to communicate with peers, team and develop a cohesive acute care team.
- Contribute to the Management on call roster on a 1:4 rota.
About you:
Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and a current annual practising certificate.
While not mandatory, a post graduate qualifications in acute care, health Management and Indigenous Health would be advantageous to the applicant.
- Credentialling as a Xray operator is advantageous in a rural and remote health facility is highly desirable.
What we offer:
Total monthly remuneration value of up to $13,684 p.m. is comprised of:
- An hourly rate between $66.85 - $72.58 p.h.
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
- 17.5% leave loading
