The Deputy Under Treasurer, Fiscal, Economics and Commercial (DUT) is a senior strategic leadership role critical to delivering Queensland Treasury's mission to drive the Government's economic and fiscal priorities. 

As a member of Treasury's Executive Leadership Team, the DUT leads the development and implementation of essential economic and fiscal policy frameworks, oversees high-value commercial transactions, and provides strategic direction to key divisions, including the State Actuary's Office, the Financial Provisioning Scheme, and the Queensland Government Statistician's Office (QGSO). This is a unique opportunity to influence Queensland's economic future and deliver on government priorities.

In this role, you will:
• Provide authoritative advice, analysis, and guidance to senior stakeholders on Queensland's economic and fiscal performance.
• Lead the development of innovative solutions that support economic, fiscal, and policy objectives aligned with government commitments.
• Oversee the delivery of whole-of-government fiscal and risk management policies, ensuring financial sustainability.
• Provide strategic advice on major economic development initiatives, commercial and infrastructure projects, and private sector engagements.
• Strategically oversee the State Actuary's Office, Financial Provisioning Scheme, and QGSO, ensuring alignment with Treasury's objectives.
• Actively contribute to Treasury's Executive Leadership Team, shaping strategic direction and organisational priorities.
• Lead and inspire a team of professionals, managing resources to achieve departmental and government objectives.
• Represent Treasury in high-level negotiations and consultations, ensuring professional and consistent representation of Queensland's economic and financial interests.

What experience you will bring:
To excel in this role, you will demonstrate:
• A proven record of success as a leader in a large and complex organisation.
• Expertise in developing and implementing complex economic, fiscal, commercial, or public policy frameworks.
• A strong ability to create innovative solutions to complex challenges.
• Extensive experience in delivering significant and complex transactions, infrastructure, and commercial projects.
• High-level political acumen and the ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships effectively.
• Outstanding judgement, integrity, and ethical leadership.
• Exceptional communication, negotiation, and adaptability in evolving environments.
