Precincts and Venues; Infrastructure and Precincts; Sport and Recreation; Flexible location in either Brisbane, Gold Coast or Sunshine Coast
Sport and Recreation supports and encourages participation and success in sport and active recreation through delivery of:
• grant funding for sport and active recreation organisations and clubs, infrastructure and participation programs,
• the operation of precincts and venues, and
• through engaging and partnering with the active industry across Queensland.
Through this investment we want to improve the health and wellbeing of all Queenslanders by assisting them to be more active.
Sport and Recreation has two Director, Precincts and Venues roles currently available.
As a Director, Precincts and Venues you will lead the portfolio encompassing six departmental owned and operated venues along with four owned and leased venues.

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced leader to oversee the delivery of venue based operations and services that align with our department's strategic objectives.
In this role, you will:
• Provide strategic leadership across asset management, capital works, risk management, business development, marketing, and sustainability.
• Manage budgets, financials, and human resources in line with departmental policies.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including councils, tourism bodies, and sporting organisations, to drive opportunities and collaboration.
• Foster a culture of performance, continuous improvement, and positive workplace values.
• Represent the department at high-level forums and provide strategic advice to senior executives and government leaders.
• Lead change management initiatives and contribute to the department's strategic vision as part of the leadership team.
• Promote a safe, healthy, diverse, respectful, and inclusive workplace culture that reflects our department's values and behaviours.
