About the Role
As Head of Department - English, you will play a vital leadership role in shaping and delivering curriculum priorities aligned with both school and departmental initiatives. You will actively contribute to the vision of the Early Childhood and State Schools Division by promoting high-quality teaching and learning practices that enhance literacy outcomes and support student success. Central to the role is the development of professional capacity within your team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement. Building strong, positive relationships with students, staff, and the wider school community will be essential to creating an engaging and supportive learning environment.
Your Responsibilities
As the Head of Department - English, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Lead the school department to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focussed on providing quality learning outcomes for all students.
- Embed socially just practices in daily school life.
- Set high standards for student and staff performance.
- Actively participate in lifelong learning and ongoing professional development.
