The role:
In the role of Program Engagement Officer, you will work in the Northern District Communication and Stakeholder Management team, consisting of the Team Lead/Senior Communications Advisor, three (3) Communications Advisors and two (2) Program Engagement Officers to support the Delivery of the Queensland Transport and Roads Investment Program (QTRIP).
You will contribute to the efficient delivery of QTRIP via effective communication, liaison and community engagement to support program managers and project teams across the district, and development of stakeholder communication and correspondence material.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
• Research and analyse information to prepare high-quality written content for briefing notes and correspondence to ensure a clear, concise and consistent response to key external stakeholders and the broader community.
• Develop community engagement plans for QTRIP projects, including the development of key messages, targeted engagement and communication strategies and associated materials.
• Preparation of communication materials, including research and writing media enquiries and releases, ministerial briefings, newsletters, flyers, display materials and other communication material for the Ministers Office and senior management.
• Respond effectively to media enquiries and prepare draft media releases.
• Develop and maintain effective relationships with a broad range of key external stakeholders.
• Maintain the integrity and confidentiality of information, QTRIP and related project data and correspondence in accordance with departmental standards and records management procedures.
Mandatory qualifications and conditions:
• A current Class ‘C' Drivers Licence.
• Pre-employment checks, including a criminal history screening and declaration of serious discipline history will be required to be completed.
• Must be eligible to work in Australia.
Desirable qualifications and conditions
• Proven experience in engaging with external stakeholders and managing communications.
• Tertiary qualifications in communications or a related field, particularly in engagement-focused disciplines.
• Training in community engagement, such as International Association for Public Participation (IAP2) certification or an equivalent.
