About the work unit / facility

Charters Towers Health Service is a level 3 (CSCF), non-birthing, 23 bed rural hospital with an emergency service and ambulatory services. Ambulatory services include community health nursing, child health nursing, midwifery group practice (non-birthing), advanced health worker, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech pathology and social work onsite.

  • Salary range: $54.44 to $58.30 p.h. (Nurse Grade 6 Band 1)
  • 4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading
  • 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation
  • Plus Salary Sacrificing options may be available

About your opportunity

The purpose of the Clinical Nurse is to provide clinical expertise, support and education to nursing staff within the Unit to ensure the provision of best practice and quality patient care.

Requirements:

  • Qualification: Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent certification relevant to the position is mandatory.
  • Highly Desirable: Possession of a relevant postgraduate qualification in an appropriate field is highly desirable. Such experience may be discipline specific or have a service area focus.
  • Highly Desirable: Extensive experience in Emergency Department and a current Adult Life Support certificate.
  • Shift Workers: Appointees will be required to work all shifts in accordance with the unit roster, which will include participation in an on-call roster.
  • This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role.
