We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Human Resources Advisor (A06) to join our team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to the department by supporting our safety, wellbeing, and injury management (SWIM) initiatives.

Your Contribution and Key Responsibilities:

  • Case Management: Proactively support managers and employees in managing workplace injuries, ensuring consistent practices and achieving positive outcomes.
  • Return-to-Work Coordination: Assist managers in developing and implementing return-to-work strategies for ill or injured staff, including facilitating reasonable adjustments where appropriate.
  • SWIM Strategy Development: Collaborate with the Principal Advisor (SWIM) and diverse stakeholders to develop, implement, and evaluate SWIM strategies, projects, and initiatives that enhance business outcomes.
  • Network Participation: Actively participate in the broader SWIM network to build capability, standardise practices, and ensure the effective delivery of SWIM functions and initiatives, with a focus on cultural and psychosocial safety.
  • Education and Awareness: Develop and deliver education and awareness programs for staff and managers to promote a sustainable safety culture across the department.
  • Expert Advice: Provide sound advice on contemporary safety, wellbeing, and injury management issues, ensuring alignment with departmental SWIM policies and procedures.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Collect, analyse, and report on SWIM performance data to identify trends and support risk management decisions related to health and safety.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including government departments, statutory authorities, WorkCover, QSuper, and rehabilitation providers, to ensure effective collaboration and outcomes.
  • High-Quality Documentation: Prepare high-quality submissions, reports, executive briefs, and correspondence to support departmental objectives and inform decision-making.
