Your new role:

In this pivotal position, you will help create a safe and secure environment for staff, patients, and visitors with:

  • Leadership and coordination of the Safety & Response team to deliver timely, effective responses to occupational violence and security incidents.
  • Oversight of daily security operations including surveillance monitoring, incident reporting, and ensuring compliance with policy and procedure.
  • Collaboration with clinical teams, Queensland Police Service, and other agencies to manage high-risk patients and serious incidents.
  • Mentorship and support of security officers to maintain professionalism, readiness, and adherence to safe work practices.

About you:

You are an experienced security professional and natural leader ready to guide and support your team by:

  • Bringing proven experience in security operations, incident response, and de-escalation in healthcare or a similar complex environment.
  • Demonstrating strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills under pressure.
  • Building effective relationships with staff, patients, and external agencies while fostering a culture of respect and professionalism.
  • Applying sound knowledge of security systems, emergency procedures, and relevant legislation to ensure best practice.

Redland Hospital is the major health centre for adults and children in the Redlands and Brisbane's southern bayside suburbs. We provide a range of services including emergency care, primary health and minor injury care, acute and subacute medicine, general surgery, maternity and paediatric, mental specialist outpatient and mental health care.
