Planning Group coordinates and integrates the delivery of town planning functions and services across Queensland to create better outcomes for people, places, the environment and the economy. We have four divisions with various roles and responsibilities, offering different experiences and opportunities for employees. In addition to the responsibilities associated with the individual teams and working with the Manager and other members of our group, you may be required to:
• Initiate and prepare documentation for the Minister, including replies to Parliamentary Questions, Briefing Notes for senior managers, Cabinet Submissions and correspondence.
• Provide high level advice, support and information to a range of internal and external clients in relation to planning strategies, recommendations and considerations regarding the provision of services and infrastructure in the planning system.
• Use specialist knowledge to solve strategic planning and development assessment issues for regional planning and the Department.
• Interpret, develop and provide specialist advice on policy relating to financial, administrative and high-level project work.
• Undertake research, analysis and problem solving.
• Provide leadership to foster a positive team environment, ensuring members are skilled, challenged, and understand their role in business success.
• Build your professional relationships across the local, regional and State planning network, using your ability to communicate and negotiate on behalf of the department. Deliver an exceptional client service experience, contribute to continuous improvement and provide innovative solutions to urban planning and development changes.
