Planning Group coordinates and integrates the delivery of town planning functions and services across Queensland to create better outcomes for people, places, the environment and the economy. We have four divisions with various roles and responsibilities, offering different experiences and opportunities for employees. Our projects are exciting and include important aspects of the current political agenda such as housing supply and diversity, renewables and regional planning.

In addition to the responsibilities associated with the individual teams, you may be required to:
- Provide high level advice, support and information to a range of internal and external clients in relation to planning strategies, recommendations and considerations regarding the provision of services and infrastructure in the planning system.
- Provide high level technical advice and organisational support for regional and local town planning activities and projects.
- Prepare written correspondence, submissions, briefs and reports on complex and sensitive issues and initiatives.
- Undertake research, analysis and problem solving.
- Represent the Department, as appropriate, at industry/stakeholders' events, meetings and working groups in an effective and professional manner.
- Build your professional relationships across the local, regional and State planning network.
- Coordinate whole of government involvement and input on matters of State and/or regional significance into local government plans, statutory and other land use planning processes.
Interpret and implement Planning Act legislation, regulations, and guidelines relating to work area policies and functions.
