About us:

The Theodore Multipurpose Health Service (MPHS) located 229km south west of Rockhampton, is part of the Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service (CQHHS). Theodore is situated on the Leichhardt Highway between the junction of Castle Creek and the Dawson River. The Theodore MPHS is a 10-bed facility that provides a range of health services to the community, including emergency, inpatients and outpatients, residential aged care, and telehealth services.

About the role:

  • Assist with planning and provide nursing care/personal care of patients and residents of the Theodore MPHS in keeping with service policies and with accepted standards, legal requirements and with the supervision of the Registered Nurse.
  • Assist in monitoring and evaluating the progress of planned patient care; record and report progress to the Registered Nurse/Team Leader.
  • Accepts responsibility for own actions, clarifies unclear instructions and refers to the Registered Nurse or Director of Nursing if concerned or uncertain about any aspect of patient care.
  • Contribute to the development, implementation and review of the ward/service plans incorporating nursing strategic direction in consultation with the Registered Nurse.
  • Maintains effective interpersonal and communication skills with members of the health care team, patients, families and visitors to the Health Service and staff from other agencies in order to provide comprehensive nursing care.
  • Communicate with staff and residents and all other persons in a respectful and courteous manner.

About you:

  • There are no mandatory requirements for this role, however, obtaining a Certificate III in Aged Care or equivalent is highly desirable.

What we offer:

  • An hourly rate between $40.83 - $44.71 (Including 25% casual loading)
