Planning Group coordinates and integrates the delivery of town planning functions and services across Queensland to create better outcomes for people, places, the environment and the economy. We have four divisions with various roles and responsibilities, offering different experiences and opportunities for employees. Our projects are exciting and include important aspects of the current political agenda
such as housing supply and diversity, renewables and regional planning.

In addition to the responsibilities associated with the individual teams, you may be required to:
• Undertake research, analysis and administrative activities to support the development of regional plans.
• Work in a flexible, multi-disciplinary team managing projects and fostering a positive team environment.
• Provide technical advice to internal and external clients on local, statutory and regional planning issues.
• Prepare written correspondence, submissions, briefs and reports on land use planning issues and initiatives.
• Undertake research, analysis and problem solving.
• Represent the Department, as appropriate, at industry/stakeholders' events, meetings and working groups in an effective and professional manner.
• Contribute to and support whole of government involvement and input on matters of State and/or regional significance into local government plans, statutory and other land use planning processes.
• Interpret and implement Planning Act legislation (including the Regional Planning Interests Act 2014), regulations, and guidelines relating to work area policies and functions.
