The Southwest District (SWD) is responsible for policing services to a large geographical area of more than 370,000sq/km, extending from Dalby in the east, south to the New South Wales border, and as far as the South Australian border. The area is very diverse, from semi-rural residential communities to vast expanses of agricultural land in isolated and remote areas.

As the Accommodation Officer for the SWD you will work closely with police and civilian support officers from across the district, to provide updates on housing and accommodation matters, including maintenance, tenancy management, and assessing minor works and related financial reporting and processing.

Your Key Accountabilities:

The core capability requirements for this role are:

  • Support the delivery of facility and accommodation management services, including identification and reporting of maintenance issues.
  • Assist with the management, monitoring, and reporting of minor works projects to ensure quality outcomes are achieved.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to provide updates on housing and accommodation matters, ensuring consistent communication, timely responses, and effective service delivery.
  • Contribute to forward maintenance, accommodation and housing tenancy management and planning, including emerging issues and future needs.
  • Process invoices, purchase orders, and financial transactions in SAP, including the preparation and processing of payments, accounts payable invoices, journals, financial settlements, and other finance related activities.
  • Assist in the preparation of submissions, reports, briefings, and correspondence relating to housing and accommodation matters, including updating records and registers to ensure property data is maintained.
  • Liaise with private sector and government department authorities on property, facilities and housing management matters.
  • Identify opportunities for improving accommodation and housing management processes, systems and services to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
