About us:

Emerald Hospital is located 300kms west of the Queensland coastline. The population of the surrounding community is approximately 28,000 with 15,000 at Emerald. Emerald Hospital is a 32 bed facility, has two operating theatres and approximately 160 staff delivering services across emergency, acute care, perioperative services, maternity, infusion services, Hospital in the Home (HITH), child heath, mental health, community and primary care. There are two smaller hospitals within 100kms, located at Blackwater and Springsure which form part of Central Highlands along with two Primary Care centres.

About the role:

The Registered Nurse provides nursing care based on the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Accreditation Council (ANMC) National Competency Standards to a group of patient/clients in collaboration with health service providers. The Registered Nurse works within scope of practice to assume responsibility for delivering competent, evidence based nursing care.

About you:

Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and a current annual practising certificate are mandatory for this position.

Post graduate qualifications or working towards in Perioperative Nursing highly regarded, in addition to recent Perioperative experience in at least two key areas (e.g. scrub and circulating nurse).

  • It is highly desirable to obtain a post graduate qualifications and provide demonstration of recent Perioperative experience.
  • This position may be required to participate in other duties as required by supervisor in other Emerald nursing units or due to changing organisational/service delivery environments.

What we offer:

Total remuneration value of up to $76,488 p.a. is comprised of:

  • An hourly rate between $41.73 - $53.53 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
