Your new role:
As a Senior Social Worker at QEII Jubilee Hospital, you will lead and deliver high-quality social work services while contributing to service improvement and team development, by:
- Managing a complex clinical caseload, providing assessment, intervention, and evaluation in line with evidence-based practice.
- Acting as a clinical reference point and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to support optimal patient care.
- Providing supervision, guidance, and training to less experienced staff, students, and allied health assistants.
- Developing, implementing, and reviewing clinical practices, protocols, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Engaging with patients, carers, and community organisations to ensure smooth discharge planning and patient-centered care.
- Participating in service leadership, including recruitment, orientation, and professional development of new staff.
About you:
You are a highly skilled social work professional who thrives in a fast-paced hospital environment, demonstrating clinical expertise and leadership, with:
- Demonstrated ability to provide high-level social work services in Emergency, ICU, or complex clinical settings.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills for effective participation in interprofessional teams.
- Experience in supervising, mentoring, and supporting less experienced practitioners and students.
- Capability to initiate, plan, and evaluate service improvement and quality initiatives.
- Exceptional organisational skills to prioritise workloads, manage multiple demands, and support optimal patient outcomes.
- Commitment to culturally safe, inclusive, and patient-centered care in a diverse community.

The Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Hospital (QEII) is a medium metropolitan adult facility providing a range of inpatient and outpatient services including a 24-hour Emergency Department. We provide a range of services, including surgery, cardiology, endoscopy, orthopaedics, gynaecology, urology, geriatric, respiratory and emergency medicine.
We're making our hospital bigger and better to make it easier for our growing community to get the health care they need. We'll have more beds, medical wards and expanded intensive care and emergency services planned to be opened by 2027.
