As our Director Operations, you will:
• Lead operational treatment and surveillance delivery activities for NFAEP delivering the Response Plan 2023-2027 – leading field staff, resource planning, quality assurance, performance measures, evidence-based risk assessment, resource prioritisation and stakeholder management for the NFAEP.
• Lead the analysis and interpretation of synthesised complex and sensitive information to anticipate, identify and manage risks to eradication and NFAEP objectives, providing timely and strategic mitigations, advice and recommendations to the General Manager, Operations

As our Director Operations, you will:
- Lead operational treatment and surveillance delivery activities for NFAEP delivering the Response Plan 2023-2027 - leading field staff, resource planning, quality assurance, performance measures, evidence-based risk assessment, resource prioritisation and stakeholder management for the NFAEP.
- Lead the analysis and interpretation of synthesised complex and sensitive information to anticipate, identify and manage risks to eradication and NFAEP objectives, providing timely and strategic mitigations, advice and recommendations to the General Manager, Operations
- Develop and maintain productive and respectful relationships that promote collaboration and partnerships including representing the General Manager, Operations, Executive Leadership Team and the Deputy-Director General and Chief Biosecurity Officer in a variety of key departmental and government committees, working parties, project teams and high-level forums.
- Lead continuous improvement, analysing and evaluating projects, and looking for innovative ways to improve the delivery of outcomes executing the Response Plan.
- Build and lead a high performing and financially sustainable workforce that demonstrates the values of the Public Service and the principles of the department.
- Drive a culture of performance excellence using and sharing best practice strategies and frameworks, providing strong and effective leadership through mentoring, coaching and capability development. This includes valuing the unique contribution of the individual, encouraging personal and team development, and encouraging an appropriate work/life balance.
- Coordinate the preparation of complex Program reports, submissions, briefing notes, presentations, and correspondence for consideration by executive management.
You may also have
- A relevant tertiary qualification (e.g. Degree, Diploma, Associate Diploma) or equivalent in a field relevant to the role from a recognised tertiary institution.
- Experience in roles requiring the application of strategic thinking, development of strategic policies and/or plans and/or the application of research.
- An understanding of biosecurity response activities and the Queensland Disaster Management Arrangements and/or experience in applying your capabilities in a response environment will be highly regarded.
