The role
The Senior Director is accountable for establishing and maintaining best-practice methods, tools, and services that drive project delivery excellence and enable the optimal deployment of resources across state-wide delivery teams.
Reporting directly to the Executive Director, Delivery Services, this role leads a team of up to 100 professionals and is responsible for fostering a high-performance culture grounded in governance excellence, transparent reporting and modern project methodologies, including lean and agile principles.
This leadership role works closely with the broader executive team to shape the Delivery Services Branch into Queensland Health's trusted advisor and partner for digital health delivery excellence, and into an employer of choice for program and project professionals.
The successful person
- We are looking for a strategic and visionary leader with:
- Proven leadership experience in technical operations and delivery roles in large-scale, diverse and complex environments.
- Strong expertise in establishing and running a high, pragmatic and scalable performing Project Management Office or similar function.
- Proven ability to manage large operational budgets and multi-skilled teams.
- In-depth understanding of ICT governance, risk management, and operational service delivery.
- High level negotiation, consultation, facilitation and written and oral communication skills, with a strong ability to communicate with and influence a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Qualifications and experience in Prince2, Agile and ITIL desirable.

The Delivery Services Branch is responsible for managing a significant portfolio of complex ICT projects, exceeding $200 million annually.
