Your new role:

As a Mental Health Clinician (Psychologist, Social Worker, or Occupational Therapist) with the CYMHS Acute Response Team, you will play a key role in providing compassionate, evidence-based care to children, adolescents, and their carers who present in crisis. Your work will involve:

  • Delivering comprehensive assessments, interventions, education, and discharge planning in a multidisciplinary setting.
  • Providing specialist acute mental health assessment services for children and adolescents presenting to the Emergency Department.
  • Liaising with families, carers, and health professionals to ensure a coordinated and person-centred care approach.
  • Contributing to quality improvement initiatives and supporting research in child and adolescent mental health.
  • Educating, mentoring, and supervising students and junior staff as part of a supportive team culture

About you:

You are a passionate mental health professional who thrives in fast-paced, team-based environments and is committed to making a real difference for young people in crisis. You'll bring:

  • Qualifications and Registration with AHPRA (for Psychologists/Occupational Therapists) or eligibility for AASW membership (for Social Workers).
  • Clinical experience in mental health assessment, intervention, and case management, preferably with children and adolescents.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with families, carers, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Commitment to best practice and continuous learning, with a focus on patient safety and quality care.
  • Resilience and flexibility to work extended hours (up to 9:00pm, Monday–Friday) as required.
