The Serious Incident Investigation Unit (SIIU) is responsible for conducting investigations into safety incidents in the mining, quarrying, explosives, and petroleum and gas sectors.
The Investigations Manager for the SIIU will lead a team of investigators. They will be responsible for monitoring the unit's investigations, ensuring adherence to procedures and investigative methodologies, and for providing advice on investigative strategy and practice.

The SIIU is seeking an experienced manager to lead and support a team of investigators as they undertake complex, sensitive, and challenging investigations into safety incidents within Queensland's resources sector.
As a strong leader with deep insight into people and team dynamics, you will inspire and guide your team to consistently deliver exemplary investigation outcomes. Your investigative expertise will ensure best practices and established procedures are rigorously applied at every stage.
You will have strong regulatory experience, and proven ability to apply complex legislation.
Equally important is your ability to build and maintain transparent, trusted relationships with key stakeholders—including from the Office of the Work Health and Safety Prosecutor —ensuring collaboration and clarity in all interactions.
Professionalism is a hallmark of your approach; you communicate investigative findings and decisions with precision and confidence, representing the SIIU with credibility. You will have a track record for showing initiative and thinking strategically.
