About your role

As a Tradesperson - Electrician, you'll be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and compliance of electrical systems and equipment across QEII Jubilee Hospital and other Metro South Health facilities. You'll work both independently and as part of a team to ensure our healthcare infrastructure remains safe, reliable, and efficient.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical infrastructure in large healthcare facilities
  • Performing HV and LV switching, isolations, and safety procedures
  • Carrying out repairs, maintenance, and compliance testing of electrical systems and plant equipment
  • Managing work priorities, projects, and contractors effectively
  • Ensuring all works comply with statutory, legislative, and safety requirements
  • Contributing to maintenance planning, continuous improvement, and procedure development
  • Accurately managing work orders and reporting in the CMMS (S/4HANA)

About you

We're seeking a proactive tradesperson who can bring both technical expertise and strong teamwork to our busy healthcare environment.

You will have:

  • Recognised trade qualifications in Queensland (minimum: electrical fitting/mechanic license)
  • White Card and Class C driver's licence
  • Experience in electrical maintenance within large or complex facilities (healthcare experience desirable)
  • Ability to interpret and apply legislation, codes, and standards (WHS Act, Electrical Safety Act, ANZ standards)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to prioritise tasks effectively
  • Desirable: HV switching qualifications, Certificate III in Instrumentation, or hazardous area training.

The Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Hospital (QEII) is a medium metropolitan adult facility providing a range of inpatient and outpatient services including a 24-hour Emergency Department. We provide a range of services, including surgery, cardiology, endoscopy, orthopaedics, gynaecology, urology, geriatric, respiratory and emergency medicine.

We're making our hospital bigger and better to make it easier for our growing community to get the health care they need. We'll have more beds, medical wards and expanded intensive care and emergency services planned to be opened by 2027.
