About the role
We're seeking a talented Team Leader - Creative Services to lead a dynamic team delivering innovative design, audio-visual, and digital content across the Department of Justice. This is a unique opportunity to inspire creativity, manage diverse projects, and collaborate with senior stakeholders to produce engaging, high-impact communications.
Key responsibilities
Your core responsibilities will include:
- Lead and mentor a skilled creative team across graphic design, photography, video, and sound production.
- Build and maintain relationships with senior management across the department, wider portfolio, and other Queensland Government agencies to ensure creative outputs support department goals and priorities.
- Provide high-level advice and leadership on creative solutions designed to engage, inform, and educate diverse audiences, ensuring all creative work aligns with government style guides and corporate identity standards.
- Manage the full workflow of the Creative Services team, including client liaison, job allocation, brief reviews, and final output assessments. Ensure creative projects meet brief requirements, communication objectives, and client expectations.
- Provide expert creative advice and contribute to strategic planning.
- Prioritise projects and manage team workflow to deliver timely, effective solutions.
What you bring
To thrive in this role, you'll need a blend of creative expertise, leadership skills, and strategic insight:
- Technical expertise: Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Lightroom. Strong skills in Microsoft Word and other Office applications.
- Leadership and negotiation: Proven experience in leading creative teams and managing projects. Ability to negotiate effectively with stakeholders and manage competing priorities.
- Project management: Skilled at prioritising workloads, meeting deadlines, and adapting flexibly to changing business needs.
- Stakeholder management: Experience developing and maintaining effective relationships with internal teams, external stakeholders, and suppliers.
- Cultural capability: Commitment to ethical behaviour, cultural sensitivity, and fostering a positive, inclusive team culture.
