The Role
An opportunity has become available for a Finance Officer (Cashier) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 13 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
- Provide excellent customer service and appropriate advice to stakeholders at cashier counter, over the telephone or email
- Receive and process payments (including cash) both over the counter, mail or via phone
- Verify central cash float and reconcile on a daily basis
- Review hospital reports and promptly raise invoices for chargeable admitted patients and ancillary charges
About you
To be successful in this position you will require:
- While not mandatory, experience in a similar health environment would be desirable and experience in cashier or accounts receivable functions would be well regarded
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
- Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary
- Temporary full time (up to 30/06/2026 with the possibility for extension)
- Base salary ranging from $2 950.00- $3 280.70 per fortnight
About Us
Collectively the Financial Control unit is responsible for the accounting, accounts receivable, private practice and revenue services for Gold Coast Health. The division is a financial support service to Gold Coast Health and has a strong service mindset. The Accounts Receivable team is responsible for the invoicing, receipting and debt follow up of patient revenue for Gold Coast Health. This includes responsibility for the cashier counter
