We are seeking a Chief Aircrew Officer to lead and inspire our aircrew, ensuring they are expertly trained, operationally ready, and fully compliant with CASA and QGAir standards. In this role, you'll drive crew training programs, oversee records and procedures, and liaise with regulators, all while supporting lifesaving aeromedical, search and rescue, and disaster relief operations. What we're looking for:
Mandatory requirements:
• Hold a current CASA Aviation Class 2 Medical Certificate.
• Have previously held Bronze Medallion Life Saving Qualification.
• Current Senior First Aid.
• Current Advanced Resuscitation.
• Holds winching/rappelling Competency Certificate.
• Qualified Helicopter Aircrew Officer with at least 1500 logged rotary wing hours and operational winching experience including night winching.
• Able to achieve approval as a Training Aircrew Officer in accordance with CASR Part 133 Manual of Standards and the company training and checking exposition within six months of appointment.
• Able to achieve Current certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment within six months of appointment.
• Management and Training Experience.
• The requirement to be contactable for advice and consultation to the Senior Aircrew Officers and line crew.
• Certificate IV in Aviation Aircrew Officer.
• Front Left Hand Seat Qualification Training.
Special Conditions
The following special conditions apply to the role - please see the position description for further details:
• Applicants must pass the Aircrew Officer Physical Fitness Test.
• The successful candidate will be required to complete an initial psychological assessment to determine their suitability.
• The successful candidate will be required to undergo pre-employment drug and alcohol testing and participate in the QGAir Drug and Alcohol Management Program.
• The role requires intra and interstate travel, and is required to perform shift duties at Archerfield, Cairns and Townsville when base rosters cannot facilitate coverage for the online aircraft.
