Transport and Main Roads is seeking a Departmental Liaison Officer to join its Executive and Parliamentary Services team. This is an exciting opportunity to act as the primary conduit of materials and information between TMR and the Minister's office. The successful candidate will be someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, can manage competing priorities, communicate well and has experience in using correspondence management systems. The position provides opportunities for the successful applicant to connect with all areas of TMR, building valuable networks along the way, and also experience executive and government process.

An opportunity exists to join a vibrant CLES unit in T MR as our new Departmental Liaison Officer. This vital role is a key conduit between the department and the Minister's office. We are looking for someone who excels in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and possesses strong communication and emotional intelligence. The successful candidate for this role must quickly establish credibility and trust with high-level stakeholders and provide exceptional support and advice.
Your Background:
- Experience in liaison roles with an understanding of government functions or the ability to quickly gain relevant knowledge.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a talent for negotiating and achieving mutually beneficial outcomes.
- Proven experience in high-pressure situations, demonstrating foresight, critical analysis, and the ability to anticipate issues.
- High-level digital proficiency, including expertise in correspondence workflow systems and the Microsoft Office suite.
- Ability to manage sensitive information with the utmost integrity and discretion.
Pre-employment Requirement: A criminal history check will be completed during the process due to the nature of this role.
