We are looking for a Senior Investigator to join our high performing Investigations Team in the Animal Welfare Program:
• Plan, undertake and report on major and complex investigations of non-compliance with the Animal Care and Protection Act 2001, and other legislation administered by Biosecurity Queensland
• Provide expertise, mentoring and support to operational staff undertaking investigations, enforcement action and applying legislation.

Animal Biosecurity and Welfare (ABW) supports BQ's efforts to prevent, prepare, respond to, and recover from diseases threatening livestock industries and maintaining access to markets. Our people work together to help mitigate biosecurity risks, uphold standards for animal welfare and animal management and lead the overall DPI response to biosecurity emergency incidents to achieve outcomes consistent with the Department's strategic direction for leadership in animal welfare, exhibited animal, animal management and animal ethics policy and service delivery.
As our Senior Investigator, you will work both autonomously and as part of the Animal Welfare Program Investigations Team to provide compliance services that promote and ensure animal welfare in Queensland. You will also work closely with inspectors within the Animal Biosecurity and Welfare operations team, providing valuable expertise and mentorship to support and develop the inspectorate as a whole.
Working for the Department of Primary Industries, you will be involved in animal welfare investigations that relate to all kinds of animals, from companion, domestic, commercial to wild and will work in various locations around the state.
