About the work unit / facility

The Community Forensic Mental Health Service (CFMHS) is a specialised unit within the Townsville Mental Health Service Group. It provides expert consultation, liaison, and support for the care of forensic and high-risk consumers across the Townsville and North West Hospital and Health Services. The team works closely with statewide forensic networks and justice agencies to ensure continuity of care and safe transitions between services.

Competitive salary and benefits

  • Salary between $4912.70–$5286.40 (HP4) and $5081.10–$5516.60 (NG7).
  • 4 to 6 weeks p.a. recreational leave with 14-17.5% loading.
  • Generous employer contribution to superannuation of 12.75%.

About your opportunity

These roles provide advanced clinical leadership and coordination for forensic and high-risk consumers under the Mental Health Act 2016. You will work across adult and adolescent services, liaising with justice agencies, statewide forensic services, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, effective, and compliant care. The positions offer a unique opportunity to influence service delivery and contribute to innovation in forensic mental health.

Requirements

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and registration with AHPRA or AASW (HP4) or Nursing registration with AHPRA (NG7).
  • Experience in forensic mental health, risk assessment, and multidisciplinary collaboration.
  • Current C Class Driver's Licence.
  • Vaccination requirements as per Queensland Health policy.
  • Willingness to travel across the Townsville and North West HHS region.
  • A probationary period may apply.
