About the Team

The Paediatric Palliative Care Service (PPCS), encompassing the E-PPCS (telehealth service delivery) and the Quality of Care Australia (QuoCCA) Project (education) is a service line under the Oncology Services Group, within the Division of Medicine. The PPCS state-wide service, based at the Queensland Children's Hospital (QCH), cares for children with life limiting conditions and those at end-of-life both directly (inpatients and outpatients) and indirectly through support to health professionals involved in their care wherever they may reside in Queensland and northern New South Wales. The service works with partners in care such as hospice providers, community nursing agencies and others involved in the family's circle of support and care.

About the Role

The role of the Nurse Practitioner Paediatric Palliative Care Service will:

Function in a collaborative model with the healthcare team to provide assessment, diagnosis, treatment and referral as required.

Provide safe, quality, cost effective care and practice within the Nurse Practitioner's approved Practice Scope that is consistent with contemporary standards and evidence-based practice.
