About your role
As an Environmental Health Officer, you will deliver high-quality environmental health services across the Metro South region, ensuring the community is safe, healthy, and well-supported.
You will:
- Administer public health legislation in Queensland.
- Undertake investigations into environmental and public health matters.
- Provide advice and education to industry, the community, and stakeholders.
- Work collaboratively with health professionals, regulators, and agencies.
- Contribute to service improvement, research, and public health initiatives.
- Support and mentor technical staff and Environmental Health students.
- Maintain accurate documentation and records in line with legal requirements.
About you
You are a motivated and detail-oriented professional with a passion for public health and community wellbeing. You thrive in collaborative environments, demonstrate strong communication skills, and bring technical expertise to environmental health practice.
Skills and experience you will bring:
- Tertiary qualification that is accredited by Environmental Health Australia.
- Willingness to complete a Certificate IV in Government Investigations.
- Ability to provide high-quality, evidence-based environmental health services.
- Strong investigative, problem-solving, and time management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, with confidence engaging industry and community stakeholders.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and reflective practice.
- Capacity to participate in on-call and after-hours work.
- Ability to pack and lift boxes up to 15kg in weight.

Community and Oral Health Services:
Community and Oral Health Services deliver a broad range of quality community-based care and support services to help people improve and maintain their wellbeing and independence as well as oral health services to adults and children.
We deliver a myriad of services across Metro South including Hospital in the Home, Rehabilitation, Chronic Disease, Acute Care, Dementia Outreach, Oral Health, and specialist residential care along with delivering numerous other vital community health services.
Our services are delivered by multidisciplinary teams of nursing and allied health staff with the skills and experience to treat a full range of health needs.
