Your new role:

As a First Nations Allied Health New Graduate, you'll deliver profession-specific services within the Child and Youth Mental Health Service (CYMHS). This two-year graduate role provides strong cultural support and professional development opportunities to help you grow. You will:

  • Deliver culturally safe, evidence-based assessments, interventions and care.
  • Work collaboratively within an interprofessional mental health team.
  • Participate in supervision, mentoring, and clinical education.
  • Engage in service improvement, research and quality activities.

About you:

We're looking for a passionate and motivated graduate who is ready to learn and contribute to positive outcomes for young people and their families. You will bring:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy, Social Work, or Psychology.
  • Eligibility for professional registration or membership (AHPRA or AASW).
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • A commitment to cultural safety, evidence-based care, and continuous learning.

Under s25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991 (Qld), there is a genuine occupational requirement for the incumbent to be Indigenous to the Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Community.

About us:

Child and Youth Mental Health Services (CYMHS) in Metro South Health provide a range of programs and services across a continuum of care, including community, inpatient, sub-acute, and specialist programs.  Whilst the majority of services provide care to consumers aged 0-18 years, some specialist programs within CYMHS provide care to consumers up to 25 years of age.
