Manager

You will identify, develop and implement engagement models and service delivery frameworks and tools to assist in the partnering of human and social recovery stakeholders to deliver timely support services during an incident, crisis, or disaster event, and for medium term responses post event.
You will manage and lead a team responsible for the delivery of regional functions that support planning, preparedness, response, recovery and resilience across Queensland on behalf of Community Recovery.
This role is based in Cairns and leads the Northern Statewide Service Delivery Team, with responsibility from Far North Queensland through to Central Queensland. The role works closely with the Manager Statewide Service Delivery and Engagement – Southern Team to provide community recovery services across Queensland.

As Manager, SSD Northern Team you will lead the northern team to:
• Identify, develop and maintain key relationships with non- government organisations, Local Governments, Local and District Disaster Management Groups and local and District Human and Social Recovery stakeholders.
• Develop and implement the annual work plan and provide supervision, leadership and management to the Principal Community Recovery Officers (PCRO) in their regional engagement, preparedness and planning activities across Queensland.
• Manage requests received from Director, Statewide Service Delivery Community Recovery to support community incidents, crises and disaster events whilst continuing to deliver support to regions.
• Provide advice and support to the Community Recovery Branch to assist clients that require multi-agency support and referrals to financial, psychological and social support services.
• Represent Community Recovery in key disaster management governance arrangements such as District Disaster Management Groups.
• During a disaster event support the Director, Statewide Service Delivery to lead the regional delivery of grants and psychosocial support to impacted communities.
• Lead the provision of medium-term responses post events, including through contracted services and additional temporary resourcing. You will also provide advice to the development and implementation of long-term resilience and recovery activities as required.
• Develop a framework and partnership engagement model with human and social recovery stakeholders across Queensland.
• Develop and manage the process of engagement of stakeholders, in consultation with internal and external stakeholders to deliver contracted services during incidents, crisis and disaster events.
• Proactively manage the work performance and personal conduct of your staff.
• Develop and review existing Standard Operating Procedures, Guidelines, Work Instructions and templates to support PCRO's with strategic and operational planning and manage all approved documentation on the CR SharePoint site.

Role Specific/Technical Skills
• During a disaster activation you may be required to work extra hours for an extended period of time and participate in a five days on / two days off staggered roster where your days off may not be Saturday and/or Sunday.
• Intra-state travel will be required, particularly during activation periods.
• Disaster Management knowledge/experience is desirable.
