You will leverage clinical expertise to improve the quality of coded data and documentation, lead quality improvement projects, collaborate to streamline the documentation query process, and design/deliver education to strengthen engagement between clinical units and the Coding team, directly impacting Activity Based Funding (ABF).

About the Opportunity
This is a new role within the Coding and Documentation Liaison (CDL) team, temporary 0.5FTE for 6 months in a hybrid, flexible working arrangement comprising in-office time and telecommuting from home.
The successful applicant will bring contemporary clinical knowledge and experience to the Health Information Service with a purpose to contribute to the improvement of coded data quality, including but not limited to Activity Based Funding.
The position of Paediatric Registrar – Coding and Documentation Liaison is a clinical leadership role that incorporates clinical expertise and provision of education across various teams. Responsibilities include:
- Undertake quality improvement activities relating to documentation optimisation for coding.
- Collaborate with the Coding and Documentation Liaisons and Clinical Coders to improve efficiency of the documentation query process and response rate.
- Identify coder and clinician education opportunities and work collaboratively to customise and deliver education.
- Support and strengthen engagement between the Clinical Coding team and clinical units across CHQ.
- Contribute to optimisation of diagnosis-related grouping (DRG) and weighted activity units (WAU) in an Activity Based Funding (ABF) environment.
