About the role
Apply advanced, multi-speciality environmental health clinical knowledge and skills to the delivery of complex regulatory and non-regulatory environmental health services to protect, promote, prevent, recognise, evaluate and control risks to the community arising from environmental health hazards that impact on the natural and built environment and human health.
Actively contribute to state-wide planning, operational work instruction and procedure development and provide specialist advice regarding environmental health matters to senior management, other state and local government agencies and other key stakeholders.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:
- Specialist knowledge, expertise and skills in contemporary environmental health practice in Queensland Health, including regulatory compliance.
- Proven ability to recognise and assess complex public health risks and provide authoritative advice to internal and external stakeholders.
- Proven ability to contribute to the appropriate application of environmental health standards, develop better environmental health practice and provide specialist advice, in regard to the implementation of quality and service improvements.
- High level written and interpersonal communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to partner effectively with colleagues and relevant stakeholders.
Mandatory Requirements:
- Hold a tertiary qualification accredited by Environmental Health Australia as recognised to practice as an Environmental Health Officer.
- Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16
