As a successful candidate in this role, you will be operating from within the State Land Management unit to successfully support risk management tasks associated with natural resource management across disciplines such as vegetation and weed management, pest and animal management, and collaborating with stakeholders regarding hazard reduction burning plans and activities.
No two days will be the same while you actively engage with enquiries and education of the public, support staff and contractors across multiple field activities and support your internal team to work actively with neighbouring stakeholders and other special interest groups and agencies on cultural heritage and maintenance of unallocated State Land.
Your attention to detail will see you monitor compliance issues on State Land and assist other business units and groups to provide information and reporting on operational matters. You'll attend rural locations (including overnight stays) and conduct remote driving to areas where you'll actively monitor State Land and contribute to land management through herbicide applications, fire management and pest and weed operations.
If you consider the outdoors your office and find you're "right at home" out in the field and naturally drawn to fresh air and natural landscapes, then we have your next career move!
