We’re on the hunt for a dynamic Team Leader to take the reins and lead our talented team of information management specialists for our business unit, Information and Technology Partners (ITP). The position of Team Leader will play a pivotal role in enhancing information management capabilities, fostering innovation, and ensuring best practices are upheld.
ITP is hosted by the Department of Primary Industries (DPI) and delivers information technology and information management services to 7 government agencies. Our purpose is to provide effective and innovative services as a trusted, strategic partner distributing smart, secure and seamless solutions. We connect people, processes, information and technology to deliver better outcomes for Queensland.

The opportunity
As the Team Leader for Information Policy and Governance, you will oversee the development, implementation, and management of information management governance frameworks, policies and strategic plans while actively engaging with stakeholders to ensure best practice principals and standards.
You will deliver expert analysis and advice on digital information technology and information management policies, standards, and submissions. Your leadership will ensure alignment with stakeholder needs and contribute to our vision to be the digital partner of choice.
You will also be responsible to:
- Develop and manage information management policy and governance materials, registers and associated procedures, including coordinating policy development and consultation activities.
- Collaborate with the Manager to develop service provisions, determine appropriate resourcing levels and identify training needs required to support demand.
- Prepare and present submissions, reports, proposals, and briefings on significant issues related to the use of information technology and information management governance to support business needs.
- Lead and contribute to research, analysis and projects that align strategic and operational objectives.
- Identify opportunities and implement operational efficiencies to ensure the team's service delivery performance consistently meets agreed service levels.
- Foster a culture of performance, innovation, and knowledge-sharing, where everyone feels valued and excited to come to work.
What we are looking for (qualifications, registrations, experience)
- Experience in developing and providing expert advice on digital and information management policy with a strong understanding of governance frameworks relevant to a large, complex public sector organisation.
- Professional communication, collaboration and influencing skills to achieve alignment with organisational goals and priorities.
- Presents technical information and risks in plain language, verbally and in written proposals and business cases.
- Proven ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Successful experience coaching others and providing leadership to a team.
- You must have the legal right to live and work in Australia.
