  • Salary range: $6980.10 to $10221.70 p.f. (L13 - L27)

About your opportunity

The purpose of this position is to provide high quality clinical services, and in particular ACRRM trainee and junior doctor supervision and training, as a part of the multidisciplinary team delivering integrated primary, community and secondary level health services to the Indigenous community of Palm Island. Cultural safety is paramount. The medical officers of Joyce Palmer Health Service (JPHS) will work in the Palm Island Primary Care Centre on rotation and they will assist in maintaining functional connections between the Centres to ensure continuity of care for patients.

Requirements:

Mandatory qualifications and proof of registration

  • Qualified as a medical practitioner, qualifications in speciality areas and current registration and/or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
  • A Fellowed and experienced Rural Generalist is highly desirable: FACRRM or FRACGP-RG is preferred but FRACGP with rural experience is highly desirable.
  • Already or able to be eligible for accreditation as a supervisor with FACRRM/ FRACGP.
  • The successful applicant will be required to possess a C class motor vehicle licence.
  • This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role.
