About the role
The Clinical Directors for Emergency Care Services will provide strategic, clinical, and operational leadership to ensure the delivery of high-quality, person-centred emergency care. The roles are responsible for aligning departmental performance with organisational goals, fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement, and leading a multidisciplinary team in a dynamic healthcare environment.
The Clinical Director for Gold Coast University Hospital and Clinical Director for Robina and Tugun Satellite Health Centre will work in close collaboration to ensure the delivery of high-quality emergency care to the community.
Clinical Directors will report operationally to the Executive General Manager of Emergency and Specialty Services, professionally to the Chief Medical Officer and on day to day matters to the Executive Director of Emergency Care Services.
The Clinical Director of Emergency Care Services positions will be appointed for three years, with the possibility of extension for a further two years. The permanent appointment will be as a Senior Staff Specialist or Staff Specialist in the Emergency Department.
Requirements for the role
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis, Hepatitis B and Tuberculosis screening.
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed.
- MBBS or equivalent registrable with the Medical Board of Australia plus FACEM or equivalent acceptable to the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine and registrable as an Emergency Medicine specialist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Relevant qualification/s and registration must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/manager, prior to the commencement of clinical duties.
- The incumbent will be required to participate in an after-hours and on-call roster for all Emergency Departments within Gold Coast Hospital and Health Service.
- Post graduate qualifications, or significant progress towards, in health or management would be highly regarded.
- Senior Staff Specialists or Staff Specialists report operationally to the Medical Director of Emergency for Gold Coast University Hospital or Robina Hospital and Tugun Satellite Health Centre and professionally to the Chief Medical Officer.
Salary information
- Permanent full time Staff Specialist with Temporary full time Clinical Director component
- Estimated total remuneration up to $447,016 p.a., comprising:
- Senior Staff Specialist: Base salary from $251,527 - $266,677 p.a
- Staff Specialist: Base salary from $210,332 - $244,313 p.a
- Up to 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
