Ingham Health Service delivers integrated care through community-based services and traditional hospital services including inpatient, emergency, surgical, and allied health. The Midwifery Group Practice (MGP) provides continuity of care through a low-risk caseload model, supporting women across pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.

About your opportunity

As a Clinical Midwife – Caseload, you will provide primary midwifery care across the continuum of pregnancy, labour, birth and postpartum. You will work autonomously within a low-risk model, supported by the Midwifery Unit Manager and collaborate with Townsville University Hospital as needed. This role includes clinical leadership, mentoring, and working to full scope of practice.

Requirements

  • Bachelor or Diploma of Midwifery (or equivalent) and current AHPRA registration.
  • Evidence of VPD vaccinations or immunity as per Queensland Health Policy.
  • Clinical skills in IV cannulation, waterbirth, perineal suturing, and speculum examination (or willingness to train within 6 months).
  • Completion of EPA for Midwives, Examination of the Newborn, and Water Immersion in Labour packages within 3 months of commencement.
  • Ability to operate a class C motor vehicle with appropriate license endorsement.
  • A probationary period may apply.
