As an AO8 Manager, Strategy and Policy, you will drive exceptional procurement outcomes for the Queensland Government. You will lead a small team of policy professionals, overseeing the stewardship and management of the Queensland Procurement Policy (QPP) and delivering whole-of-government guidance, tools and templates to support procurement excellence.
What you will be doing:
• Leading a team in the development and maintenance of whole-of-government procurement policy and guidance regulating over $35 billion in government procurement investment across more than 170 agencies, that delivers on government's policy priorities, the delivery of best-in-class procurement outcomes, and responses to emerging issues impacting procurement.
• Providing evidence-based expert advice on procurement policy and guidance to government and non-government stakeholders including industry and union representative bodies, at all levels.
• Leading consultation and engagement with government and non-government stakeholders regarding the Queensland Procurement Policy, policies impacting procurement, procurement related reviews, and guidance to deliver outcomes that are supported and meet the needs of government.
• Delivering public presentations and representing Queensland Government Procurement Policy at external events.
• Providing input into, and coordinating and/or reviewing, Cabinet submissions and policy and strategy proposals, to ensure procurement-related issues and opportunities are identified and addressed.
• Leading individual projects with whole-of-government impact to address emerging procurement issues or deliverables to support best-in-class procurement outcomes and provide advice and / or guidance material in response.
• Proactively manage the work performance and personal conduct of your staff, deploying a portfolio and project management approach and ensuring on-time delivery of quality outputs.
