Waraburra State School is seeking applications for an Administrative Officer to join our team and support Rockhampton District School Sport (RDSS).
Working under the general supervision of the Principal or nominee, this role provides essential administrative support and coordination, drawing on a depth of knowledge and a broad range of skills to effectively serve the functions of RDSS.

About the Role
As the Administrative Officer, you will contribute to the effective and efficient administrative management of the school by providing timely and relevant support to the Principal and Business Manager. Working within established guidelines, you will assist with the resolution of routine issues by following set procedures, while referring more complex or non-routine matters to the Principal or Business Manager for direction.
Your Responsibilities
As the Administrative Officer, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Carry out a wide range of administrative duties at an advanced level to support the Rockhampton District School Sport that may include typing, word processing, maintaining manual and electronic records and assisting with events.
- Perform a variety of day to day administrative and upport services that are routine in nature and directed by RDSS.
- Use system information technologies and equipment to manage administration tasks such as: -
- Photocopying/printing
- Creating database file structure
- Creating and editing spreadsheets
- Preparation of correspondence and student reports
- Recording matters for student protection and compliance issues
- Maintaining established filing/records systems including document retention - physical and electronic
- Entry of financial data and preparation of financial reports eg. accounts payable/receivable and account reconciliations (where appropriate)
- Prepare minutes of meetings, policy documents, reports, forms, newsletters, prospectuses, memorandums.
- Respond to enquiries from and liaise with staff, students, parents and the public and address issues in accordance with routines, methods and procedures using discretion and judgment as required.
- Provide administrative support with tasks such as arranging appointments, the coordination of diaries and travel and accommodation bookings.
- Assist with monitoring and maintaining sporting equipment for all RDSS sporting teams.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers including those supplying uniforms, sports gear, trophies, etc.
- Assist in the planning and preparation of sporting events.
- Assist in the preparation of internal and external publications.
- Apply day to day independence in determining work schedules and sequences within a well-defined environment with regular managerial supervision.
- Other duties as directed by the principal or RDSS.
