Your new role:
As an Administrative Support Officer within Metro South Palliative Care, you will play a crucial role in delivering efficient and accurate administrative services. Your work will directly support patients and healthcare staff, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations in a caring and respectful environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide timely and accurate patient registration and administrative support including scheduling, minute-taking, data entry, and document management.
- Maintain office supplies and clinical stock levels to support seamless operations.
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives to enhance client service and team efficiency.
- Adhere to workplace health and safety policies to ensure a safe and supportive environment.
About you:
You are an organised and reliable professional with strong communication skills and a passion for supporting compassionate healthcare. Your attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities make you an essential team member in palliative care administration.
Skills & Attributes:
- Experience or willingness to learn patient registration and medical record systems (e.g., HBCIS, CHIMS, ieMR).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with strong keyboarding, word processing, and data entry skills.
- High-level oral and written communication skills, able to liaise effectively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to work autonomously, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines with discretion.

The Princess Alexandra Hospital (PAH) is a tertiary health care centre providing care in most major adult specialties. We provide world class health care to Brisbane City's southern suburbs across emergency, medical, mental health and surgical services, including liver and kidney transplant.
We are nationally recognised for our expertise in trauma management and organ transplants and are one of Australia's leading academic and research health centres. The PAH as a major medical research precinct hosts Australia's most advanced medical research facility, the Translational Research Institute (TRI) as well as a new Clinical Research Facility for the discoveries made at TRI to be trialed in a safe clinical environment.
We're expanding our hospital to make sure everyone gets the care they need. We're adding more beds, modernising our buildings, and improving our spaces to treat kidney and cancer patients with all new services and facilities planned to open by 2027.
