Join Our Culinary Team at QAGOMA

Located in Brisbane's cultural precinct, the Queensland Art Gallery | Gallery of Modern Art (QAGOMA) is celebrated for its world-class exhibitions and exceptional dining experiences. We are seeking a passionate and driven Chef de Partie join our team and contribute to a food program that values creativity, quality, and care.

As part of our kitchen brigade, you'll work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment alongside experienced senior chefs. Key Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with the Executive Chef, Sous Chefs, and wider team to plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality dishes across all outlets and events.
  • Take ownership of a designated section, ensuring consistency, quality, and efficiency during service.
  • Monitor product usage, ordering, and stock control to support cost of goods targets and minimise wastage.
  • Ensure all food safety and Workplace Health and Safety standards are met in accordance with the Gallery's Food Safety Plan and the Food Act 2006.
  • Maintain high standards of food production and presentation, with strong attention to detail and adherence to Gallery standards.
  • Contribute to a positive, professional, and team-focused kitchen culture, working flexibly across a rotating 7-day roster including weekends and evenings.

About You

  • Hold a minimum Certificate III in Commercial Cookery and have a genuine passion for contemporary Australian cuisine.
  • Have experience in a similar Chef de Partie role within a large hotel, restaurant group, or multi-venue establishment.
  • Demonstrate exceptional attention to detail, maintaining high standards of food quality, consistency, and presentation across all sections.
  • Confident working across multiple outlets and service styles, from casual dining to high-volume events, while maintaining composure under pressure.
  • Thrive in a collaborative team environment, showing initiative, reliability, and a commitment to continuous improvement in both your craft and workplace culture.
