The Strategic Network Management team develops policies, guidelines, and advice to manage road disruptions and provides overarching guidance on network operations and travel demand. They also implement projects to address emerging road use challenges and deliver insights to inform strategies and drive continuous improvement in network management.
The role:
The Manager (Strategic Network Management) plays a pivotal leadership role in driving evidence-based continuous improvement of policies, guidelines, and processes to support network management operations, travel demand management and real-time network management.
Key responsibilities include developing strategies and policy frameworks aligned with government objectives, managing business requirements for disruption management systems, and providing tactical advice to senior leaders. The role also involves contributing to the continuous improvement of network operations, leading and coordinating responses during major disruptive events, and building strong stakeholder relationships to address high-risk and politically sensitive matters.
About you:
We're seeking a dynamic leader with strong communication skills, experience in transport operations or disruption management, and a proven ability to inspire teams.
Operational policy development experience and expertise in transport network operations or disruption management are highly desirable, and the role requires flexibility to work outside standard hours during declared incidents.
To be successful in this role, you'll need exceptional communication skills to convey complex information clearly and foster knowledge-sharing across teams. You'll build and maintain strategic relationships with stakeholders to support departmental objectives and deliver successful projects. Strong critical thinking and leadership skills are essential to analyse problems, develop solutions, inspire innovation and guide a high-performing team to achieve organisational goals and deliver value to customers.
